Interpretation Fields

1. Simultaneous Interpretation
In international events including seminars and symposiums, the interpreters, usually working in tandem, listen to the discourse through headsets while instantaneously interpreting into the microphone placed in front of them. This type of interpretation is primarily utilized in large conferences with many participants (speakers or audience) and is particularly effective when the interpretation is required in several languages. To assure the highest quality interpretation, we recommend that the related data be sent at least four to five days in advance.

2. Consecutive Interpretation
In consecutive interpretation, the interpreter listens to the speaker while taking notes and delivers the interpretation in segments. Consecutive interpretation is mainly utilized during summit meetings, ministerial conferences, bilateral meetings or other conferences where the number of participants is limited. It is also desirable in consultations on law-related documents and negotiations. For a successful interpretation, we recommend that the related data be sent at least a day or several hours in advance.

3. Relay Interpretation
Relay interpretation is used when the conference or symposium utilizes three or more languages. For example if interpretation in Korean, English and other language is needed, the interpreter in the first booth changes English into Korean and the interpreter in the second booth changes Korean into other foreign languages like a relay in a track meet.

4. Escort and Buisness Interpretaion
Escort interpretation refers to the system of providing full language services to the client during his/her entire tour schedule. When a head of a state or high-ranking government official pays a visit to another country, the interpreter accompanies the dignitary throughout his/her entire itinerary. More commonly, when a foreign businessman comes to Korea on a business trip or when a Korean businessman goes abroad on a business trip, he may rely on an interpreter for extensive language services. Depending on the situations, the interpreter may act as a tour guide or provide a secretary service as well.

5. International Exhibition Intrepretation
Professional tour guides who have guide certificates provide language services to clients on a trip.

6. Tour Guide Interpretation
Interpreters for international expositions where importers and exporters meet together are trained to help their clients manage the event during the whole process.
